Deploying a Laravel queue worker
Run workers under Supervisor so they restart when they crash, and always restart them on deploy.
Steps
- Install Supervisor
- Add a program file
- one process per CPU core

- Reload:
supervisorctl update
A worker that is not restarted keeps running the old code.

Raw HTML in the Markdown is escaped rather than passed through, and link targets other than http, https, mailto, tel and relative paths become #, so the output is safe to show. For full CommonMark conformance in production, use a tested parser: league/commonmark in PHP, markdown-it or marked in JavaScript.

Safe by default
Markdown allows raw HTML, so rendering untrusted Markdown as-is is an XSS hole. This converter escapes any HTML in the input and replaces javascript: and data: links. A production pipeline should do the same: league/commonmark in PHP has html_input set to escape or strip, and JavaScript renderers are usually paired with a sanitizer such as DOMPurify.
Which Markdown
CommonMark is the specification most renderers follow; GitHub Flavored Markdown adds tables, task lists, strikethrough and autolinks. This tool covers what documentation and READMEs use; for full conformance, use one of those tested parsers. Laravel's Str::markdown() wraps league/commonmark.
