Approximations of each network's large card. Facebook and LinkedIn crop to 1.91:1 and X to 2:1 for summary_large_image, so keep text and faces away from the edges. Networks cache what they scrape: after changing tags, re-scrape with the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector. The image is read from your file and never uploaded.

Runs in this browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server.

Design for the crop

Each network crops the image differently and overlays or truncates the title, so keep text and faces away from the edges of the image and put the key words at the start of the title. The tags themselves are defined by the Open Graph protocol; the meta tag generator writes them.

Caches

Networks cache the card the first time a URL is shared. After changing the tags, ask them to re-scrape with the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector, or the old card keeps appearing.

Frequently asked questions

What image size should og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels is the common recommendation. Keep files under a few megabytes and use absolute URLs.
Why does my link show no image when shared?
Usually a relative og:image URL, an image blocked by robots.txt, or a cached scrape from before the tag was added.
Is what I paste sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type or paste is sent to our server or stored.
